Guide 10 · Source shelf

Check the label before you build.

The inventory comes from the order picture plus one Tab5. Hardware facts come from first-party M5Stack guides.

Which source wins?

1

What is owned

The order picture plus the stated Tab5 quantity.

2

How hardware works

Current M5Stack product, programming, schematic, protocol, and repository pages.

3

Story ideas

The family conversation and old source package, treated as ideas to check - not commands.

Before flashing

Re-check board versions, libraries, and release notes. These can change.

What came from the old package

The private source bundle supplied the "build one product, level it up" idea and strong manual patterns: project overviews, before/add/after states, step indexes, large visuals, expected/fix checks, and print layouts.

Sidequest keeps those patterns and removes adult utility work, real names, unsafe mechanisms, placeholder prompts, and wrong hardware assumptions. Private archive links are not published on this public site. The full decision trail is in the source map.

Official hardware shelf

Read release notes before flashing.

The official StackChan source can lag the released factory firmware and app.

Third-party StackChan gateway

kisaragi-mochi/stackchan-mcp is an MIT-licensed gateway for the 2025 M5Stack kit. It replaces device firmware and talks to a local client over WebSocket. It is not factory firmware, factory AI Agent, or StackFlow.

The Mac mini package is pinned at 0.17.0 as of September 2, 2026. Installing the package alone does not change the robot. See the safe activation guide.
